Twos Day 2-22-22 FREE Games

Looking for a fun, FREE activity for your class for Twos Day, Tuesday, 2-22-22? It seems that everyone is planning to have some fun with 2’s this day!  Most of the ideas I have seen shared have been centered around elementary age kids, so I decided to put together a couple of FREE fun games for middle school!

My first thought for Twos Day was that it was the perfect day to practice solving TWO step equations, so I made a fun FREE moving targets digital game that reviews 2-step equations.

For the game, you can break the class up into up to 5 teams. There are a bunch of 2’s floating around the screen. If you have a SMARTBoard or other interactive board that supports touch, students can throw a koosh ball or stuffed animal at the board to try to hit one of the 2s moving around the screen (otherwise, they can just click on one of them). That will bring up a two-step equation to solve. Have each group solve the equation and hold up their answer, and then award points to all the teams that solve the questions correctly. It’s a fun way to get into the spirit of the day while still providing meaningful practice for your 7th, 8th or Algebra I class!

I made a similar Twos Day moving targets game for 5th – 6th grades (also FREE!) that is just a general review of lots of different things (order of operations, prime factorization, decimals, & more)! ALL of the numbers in all 22 of the problems are made up entirely of 2s! It’s played exactly the same as my 2-step equations game, just with different questions.

Want to play the Twos Day game on a different topic? Great news! If you have previously purchased ANY of my digital bingo games, moving targets games, claw machine games, or game shows in the past, you can now play that game in a different format, including this Twos Day moving targets game format (for free)! If you go back and open that purchased product, it will take you to a page that explains how to create a free ClassGRIT account which will allow you to play that game in any format you choose!

If you are looking for a fun non-mathy Twos Day activity, I also made a FREE “food pair” matching digital bingo game for Twos Day, geared more towards the younger grades, but can be used at any level as a fun brain break activity! The bingo calling cards show a food item (i.e. ketchup) and students need to match that item with its “pair” on their digital bingo board (i.e. mustard).

I hope your students have fun with these and/or any other activity you have planned for this special once-in-a-century day! Wishing you all a happy 2-22-22!!

Thanks for reading,
Christina
